Writer
Guidelines
This
page will review important points to keep in mind when
producing articles for TraderEducation.com.
General
Content Guidelines
We're looking for engaging and comprehensive content that
educates our site visitors. All content must be trading
related, educational, and timely.
1) Topics Related to trading or market analysis
We are open to evaluating any subject matter that relates to
trading.
2) Be educational
Please try to maintain balance and objectivity. Commentaries
are welcome, but we ask that you also incorporate educational
wisdom in your pieces. It always helps when claims are
supported by facts. We will not accept product reviews or
promotional pieces.
Production
Process
1) Send us an outline
Send us a pitch that briefly describes the proposed article in
2-3 sentences, as well as the most important points in bullet
form. Please take a few minutes and search through the site to
avoid overlap with any existing articles. If you are looking
for topic ideas we'd be glad to point you in the right
direction.
2) We approve outline
When an outline is approved, we will set a deadline. Outline
approval does not guarantee payment or publication. If the
article falls short of what we envisioned, then we'd like to
come back to you for clarifications and/or additions.
3) Editorial Review
After receiving your first draft of the article we'll review
it for financial and grammatical accuracy. We may contact you
at this phase with any questions, clarifications, or requests
for changes. Please keep in mind that the minimum length for
an article is 1000 words, with the maximum being around 2500
words.
5) Publication
Once the article has been approved it'll be slated for release
within the next few weeks. Please submit your invoice when
editors inform you that the article is complete.
Other
Important Points
Sources
If you are quoting any individuals, companies, organizations,
other publications or web sites, please provide the source's
name, where it was published, or quoted, and date of
publication. If it's an online source, provide the link.
Objectivity
and Opinion
All traders have their opinions and biases. The editorial
staff will not pass judgment on a particular issue. We simply
wish to present the facts to our readers in a compelling,
balanced and objective manner. Our readers will form their own
views.
Images/Graphics
Graphics should be no more than 400 pixels wide and sent as
separate attachments and labeled in the order in which they
should appear. Please provide .gif and/or .jpeg files. Use
recent chart examples--that is, the most recent 12 months, and
preferably, the last two or three months (the more recent, the
better). Old examples undermine credibility.
Summaries
The
summary should be nothing more than a re-cap or a reiteration
of the article's main ideas with different wording. It
portrays the points in the article you want the reader to
remember most.
